OFTEC Fuel Tank Inspections.
A thorough OFTEC fuel tank inspection will highlight any potential environmental risks, compare your current installation to that of the most recent OFTEC guidelines in industrial, commercial and domestic facilities.
Protection of the environment and property is a must. Ultimately, the objective is to mitigate the risk of any major loss, or a spill of fuel oil on your property.
The recommended schedule in line with the GPP2 Environment Agency guidelines is for an annual OFTEC survey/inspection and general service. This includes a report on the tank and the installation / location as well.
Each survey is carried out by an OFTEC registered and fully qualified technician (OFTEC 600A) who will complete a full report for all oil storage on site including a detailed survey of each container, any relevant photographs, and a full summary of the findings, including items for future attention, recommendations and costing. On completion an electronic copy of the report will be returned to site, and we will continue to offer support as required throughout the year.

Annual OFTEC inspections offer peace of mind that your oil storage on site is being correctly maintained and that it remains compliant with all current regulations.
OFTEC Information note T1/120
“Oil Storage Inspection and Maintenance” referred to in Clause 22 also states that: “It is recommended that oil storage tanks and their ancillary equipment are inspected on an annual basis by an OFTEC Registered Technician”.
GPP2 Guidelines
“Use a registered competent person to check your tanks, secondary containment and pipework every year …… You should receive a written report on the state of your tank after the inspection is completed. Any repairs or alterations detailed in the report should be done by a registered competent person straightaway.”
